Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited on Alaska’s Delta Junction site seeks an Environmental Specialist to support the Environmental Team with sampling, waste management, inspections, and reporting. You will supervise contractors on site and assist with spill response.

Responsibilities include conducting audits, maintaining plans, regulatory interpretation, and data reporting. Certification in HazWOPER/AK-CESCL and EPA methods is required, with MSHA awareness and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree or advanced degree in Environmental Science or equivalent.
• Current Driver’s License.
• Be able to pass a background check and post-offer physical.
• Current Opacity certification and HazWoper certification.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Awareness of MSHA Act & Regulation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compliance monitoring and quality control audits.
• Write and maintain environmental plans.
• Investigate permit questions and local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct field inspections and prepare reports.
• Develop and update waste management policies and procedures.
• Train site staff on handling hazardous waste.
• Record test data and prepare reports and charts.
