Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to manage geotechnical risks and ensure safe extraction that meets production targets. The role involves maintaining GCMPs, reviewing designs, and providing data-driven recommendations.

You will mentor Graduates and support projects across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons while working a 15 day on, 13 day off remote camp schedule with full facilities and transport links to Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok.

Qualifications

• Degree majoring in Mining Engineering or in an equivalent field.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, across all levels.
• Current Driver’s License.
• Able to pass a background check and post-offer physical.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain site systems and standards to manage geotechnical risks.
• Review development mining instructions and stope designs for safe extraction.
• Ensure compliance with Company and Statutory requirements.
• Review and update GCMPs regularly.
• Carry out geotechnical evaluations and risk assessments to manage hazards.
• Collect and analyze geotechnical data for rockfall identification.
• Engage with site personnel to determine geotechnical requirements.
• Provide support, guidance and development opportunities to graduates.
• Support technical and operations teams on short-, medium-, and long-term projects.
• Monitor training records and ensure fair access to training.
