Job summary

SMG is seeking a local Environmental Advisor in Huntsville, AL to coordinate environmental compliance programs across projects and site activities. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to permits, policies, and regulatory requirements while guiding teams and contractors.

Qualifications

• 7 years of environmental experience and knowledge of regulatory compliance.
• Experience on construction projects with environmental services.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Environmental Studies, Geology, or similar is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental compliance oversight for construction activities.
• Support compliance with NPDES, RCRA, Stormwater, Air Permits, and SPCC requirements.
• Develop and manage environmental plans, permits, documentation, and records.
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify environmental risks.
• Lead environmental incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Deliver environmental training and guidance to project teams and contractors.
• Support regulatory audits, agency interactions, and project‑specific programs.
