Job summary

SMG in Huntsville, AL seeks a local Owner's Rep to provide environmental services and coordinate environmental compliance programs, permits, and standards within its project scope.

The role focuses on overseeing construction-related environmental activities, ensuring regulatory compliance (NPDES, RCRA, Stormwater, SPCC), and developing comprehensive plans and records. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• 7 years of environmental experience.
• Previous work on construction projects performing environmental services.
• Thorough knowledge of environmental studies and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, and problem-solve.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental compliance oversight for construction activities.
• Support compliance with NPDES, RCRA, Stormwater, Air Permits, and SPCC requirements.
• Develop and manage environmental plans, permits, documentation, and records.
• Conduct site inspections and compliance assessments to identify environmental risks.
• Partner with contractors to ensure adherence to environmental regulations and permit requirements.
• Lead environmental incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Deliver environmental training, guidance, and coaching to project teams and contractors.
• Support regulatory audits, agency interactions, and project-specific environmental programs.

Education

Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Environmental Studies or Geology
