Job summary

University of Central Florida IT seeks a Manager, Data Platforms to lead day-to-day operations of enterprise data, integration, automation, and AI platform services. You will manage a team supporting Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Informatica, Power Platform, Copilot, Gemini, SQL Server, and MariaDB.

The role emphasizes platform reliability, governance, security, and continuous improvement to keep data platforms secure, available, and scalable for institutional needs.

Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise data platforms, analytics, BI, or data engineering teams in a large organization.
• Expertise with modern cloud data technologies including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Services, data warehouses and data lakes.
• Experience establishing and advancing data governance, data quality, metadata management, and institutional data stewardship practices.
• Able to develop and execute data platform strategy, roadmaps, and service delivery models aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Data Platforms team, including work assignments, workload management, onboarding, performance evaluations, professional development, and cross-training initiatives.
• Manage day-to-day operations of enterprise data, integration, automation, and AI platforms, ensuring reliable and effective service delivery.
• Oversee platform availability, performance, capacity planning, monitoring, backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, and operational readiness activities.
• Manage service requests, incidents, and operational workflows through ServiceNow while maintaining service levels and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as the operational liaison between technical teams, stakeholders, and IT partners to support platform initiatives and priorities.
• Ensure adherence to change management, testing standards, security controls, access management, and data governance policies.
• Support the administration and operational delivery of enterprise AI and automation platforms, promoting automation-first practices and continuous improvement.
• Develop operational reports, service metrics, and platform dashboards for leadership.
• Serve as a management escalation point for service-impacting issues and assist in resolving operational challenges.
