Job summary

Dairyland Power Cooperative in La Crosse, WI invites an Energy Data Analyst Intern to turn energy and business data into clear, actionable reports. You will build dashboards and data models to support strategic decisions and report on performance and trends.

The role emphasizes Power BI development, data visualization best practices and collaboration with business partners to translate questions into analytical products. Internship is on site with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate degree in data analytics, information systems, business analytics, data science, statistics, or another related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain interactive dashboards/scorecards for energy, financial and operational analysis.
• Develop clear, effective data visualizations that help technical and nontechnical users understand trends, performance drivers and business results.
• Create and maintain Power BI semantic models using STAR schema and dimensional modeling principles.
• Connect, clean, transform and organize diverse datasets of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Develop DAX measures, calculated columns and key performance indicators that accurately reflect business definitions and reporting requirements.
• Work with staff and other business partners to gather reporting requirements and translate business questions into practical analytical products.
• Review and validate reports, calculations and source data to ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability.
• Identify trends, variances and unusual results in energy and business data and clearly communicate relevant findings.
• Create and maintain documentation for data sources, business definitions, calculations, report logic and user instructions.
• Present completed dashboards and analytical findings to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
