Job summary

The Energy and Sustainability Analytics Manager (AVP) at NYCEDC sits within Asset Management’s Energy Team and leads energy management and decarbonization efforts at the Brooklyn Army Terminal, a large industrial campus managed by NYCEDC. You will work on-site to identify, analyze, and implement energy and process improvements, focusing on smart systems, digital optimization, and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data science, sustainability, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in facility energy management, industrial energy systems, or building performance.
• Demonstrated success implementing energy conservation measures and managing utility data for large facilities.
• Proven experience with building automation systems, metering, and energy-data platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with tenants and stakeholders.
• Proficient in data analysis and quantitative methods; familiarity with coding and dashboards (Power BI, Tableau)

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data-driven energy management plan for BAT with measurable targets.
• Benchmark building performance, identify trends, and visualize savings opportunities.
• Track and report progress toward annual energy savings and peak demand reductions.
• Identify and deliver advanced energy projects (demand response, networked lighting, digital twin).
• Coordinate with NYSERDA, utilities, and consultants on implementation and incentives.
• Support integration of distributed energy resources (solar, BESS, EV charging, thermal networks).
• Develop dashboards and performance reports for operators and tenants.
• Train staff on data-driven energy optimization and tenant engagement.
