Job summary

Amphibious Medics in Foster City, CA seeks an On-Site EMT/Paramedic to serve as a construction site medical representative, provide triage and first aid, and coordinate care with safety teams.

You will maintain medical records, manage on-site supplies, support workers’ compensation, and participate in health fairs and safety meetings. EMT-B and CPR certifications, OSHA 10/30, and field experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of full-time 911 emergency medical response experience.
• Certification in National Registry or State EMT-B.
• Valid CPR certification (BLS or equivalent).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910).
• Experience on large-scale construction sites.
• Experience with workers’ compensation claim process.
• Instructor certification for First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Responsibilities

• Triage, provide first aid, and refer to outside medical providers as needed.
• Remain calm in emergencies, assess situations, and provide CPR and other medical care.
• Maintain medical records and the site’s medical records database.
• Manage on-site inventory and restock supplies; keep equipment clean.
• Coordinate with outside medical providers on injuries and healing progression.
• Provide daily activity logs to safety and management teams.
• Conduct site walks and engage with workers and managers.
• Coordinate on-site health fairs (annual/semi-annual/quarterly).
• Participate in medical and safety meetings with construction workers.

The On-Site EMT/Paramedic serves as aconstruction site medical representative, working closely withconstruction site Health and Safety management teams to provide a safework environment for construction site workers. This includes workingin a first aid capacity for injured workers, analyzing tasks forpotential safety hazards, implementing and participating in a siteHealth & Wellness program, and participating in the workers'compensation process.

What You Will Do

• Provide triage, first aid, and/or referral to an outside medicalprovider if indicated.
• Be calm in emergencies, assess situations, make sound decisions, and respond swiftly and appropriately, including providing first aid, CPR, and other emergency medical care within the scope of the position.
• Maintain medical records and medical records database for the site.
• Maintain on-site inventory supplies, restock, and clean equipment usedin the treatment of employees.
• Communicate with outside medical providers on workers’ injury/healingprogression and provide direct follow-up care with workers.
• Provide daily activity logs to the safety team and management team.
• Perform frequent “site walks” to interact with both workers and managers.
• Help coordinate an annual, semi-annual, or quarterly on-site health fair.
• Participate in frequent medical and safety awareness meetings withconstruction workers.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• One year of full-time experience in 911 emergency medical response.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, navigate an active job site including stairs, and carry required medical equipment weighing up to 35 lbs.
• Must also be physically capable of responding to medical emergencies, including providing CPR and assisting with or supporting the movement of an injured or incapacitated individual when necessary.

Education / Certification

• Minimum of a valid National Registry or State EMT-B Certification.
• Valid CPR certification at the Basic Life Support for HealthcareProvider level (American Heart Association) or Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with OSHA regulations, specifically in 29 CFR 1910.
• Experience working on large-scale construction sites.
• Experience with the workers’ compensation claim process.
• Instructor certification for First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
• An active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card.
