Job summary

ifm prover USA in Malvern, PA, is seeking a 100% on-site Embedded Software Engineer to join the Product Development team. You will design, develop, test, and support embedded software for sensor products used in industrial automation and process applications.

The role collaborates with electrical, mechanical, and global engineering teams to move products from prototypes to production, emphasizing C/C++ firmware, real-time systems, and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills for embedded systems.
• Experience with microcontrollers, real-time embedded systems, and embedded development workflows.
• Familiarity with I2C, SPI, DMA, UART interfaces.
• Experience with version control and software configuration practices.
• Ability to work on-site 100% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software for sensor products.
• Develop firmware in C/C++ for microcontroller-based platforms and real-time embedded systems.
• Participate in software architecture, system design reviews, and code reviews.
• Develop algorithms for sensor measurement, filtering, diagnostics, calibration, communications, and signal processing.
• Interface software with analog/digital electronics and support hardware/software integration.
• Validate software against specifications, debugging, root-cause analysis, and design release support.
• Create internal tools and scripts to support development, testing, and data analysis.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and global teams.
