Job summary

Jacobs has an immediate opportunity for an On-Site Electrical Engineer at our project near Baton Rouge, LA. The Electrical On-Site Engineer acts as the Professional's field representative responsible for supporting the installation and delivery of electrical infrastructure.

The role ensures effective communication between project stakeholders and facilitates timely resolution of electrical design and construction challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design, construction, operations, or commissioning; or 5+ years supporting hyperscale data center projects.
• Experience with substations, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, MV/LV distribution, protective relaying, and mission-critical electrical systems.
• Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, standards, and testing requirements.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to safely work on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site representative for electrical systems.
• Support construction activities involving MV/LV distribution and related equipment.
• Conduct daily field observations to assess quality, safety, and progress.
• Coordinate design issues and field modifications with engineering teams.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and equipment substitutions.
• Support BIM coordination and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Monitor installation for conformance with drawings and design intent.
• Identify deficiencies and schedule risks.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, energization, and startup support.
• Prepare weekly site observation reports and participate in project meetings.
