Jacobs is hiring an On-Site Electrical Engineer for a project near Baton Rouge, LA. The role serves as the field representative supporting installation and delivery of electrical infrastructure, bridging communication between stakeholders and resolving design and construction challenges.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years in electrical design, construction, operations, or commissioning (or 5+ years on hyperscale data center projects).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design, construction, operations, or commissioning; or 5+ years supporting hyperscale data center projects.
• Experience with substations, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, MV/LV distribution, protective relaying, and mission-critical electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site representative for electrical systems.
• Support construction activities involving medium-voltage, low-voltage, emergency power, grounding, controls, and distribution systems.
• Conduct daily field observations to assess quality, safety, and installation progress.
• Coordinate electrical design issues and field modifications with engineering teams.
• Facilitate review and resolution of RFIs, submittals, and equipment substitutions.
• Monitor installation activities for compliance with drawings, specifications, and design intent.
• Prepare weekly site observation reports and technical recommendations.
