Jacobs is seeking an On-Site Electrical Engineer for a project near Baton Rouge, LA. The role serves as the field representative supporting installation and delivery of electrical infrastructure, coordinating with stakeholders to resolve design and construction challenges.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of electrical design/construction experience (or 5+ years on hyperscale data center projects).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of electrical design, construction, operations, or commissioning; or 5+ years on hyperscale data center projects.
• Experience with substations, switchgear, UPS, generators, MV/LV distribution, relaying, and critical electrical systems.
• Familiar with electrical codes, standards, and testing requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to safely work on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site representative for electrical systems.
• Support construction activities involving MV/LV, UPS, generators, and distribution.
• Conduct daily field observations for quality, safety, and progress.
• Coordinate design issues and field modifications with engineers.
• Facilitate RFIs, submittals, and equipment substitutions.
• Support BIM coordination and interdisciplinary reviews.
• Monitor installations for conformance to drawings and specs.
• Identify deficiencies, concerns, and schedule risks.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, energization, and startup support.
• Collaborate with commissioning, QA/QC, and Owner teams; prepare weekly reports.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain clear stakeholder communication.
