Job summary

Jacobs has an immediate opportunity for an On-Site Electrical Engineer at our project near Baton Rouge, LA. The role acts as the field representative, supporting the installation and delivery of electrical infrastructure, and ensuring effective communication among project stakeholders.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years in electrical design, construction, operations, or commissioning, or 5+ years on hyperscale data center projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design, construction, operations, or commissioning; or 5+ years supporting hyperscale data center projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
• Ability to safely work on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site representative for electrical systems.
• Support construction activities involving MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, and controls.
• Conduct daily field observations for quality, safety, and progress.
• Coordinate electrical design issues with engineering teams and field modifications.
• Facilitate review of RFIs, submittals, and equipment substitutions.
• Support BIM coordination and interdisciplinary coordination efforts.
• Monitor installation for compliance with drawings and specs.
• Identify deficiencies, schedule risks, and installation concerns.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, energization planning, and startup support.
• Collaborate with commissioning, QA/QC, and Owner teams for successful implementation.
• Prepare weekly site observation reports and participate in project meetings.
