Job summary

Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) is seeking a substitute teacher to assist with daily classroom activities under the supervision of a full-time teacher. This on-site role supports health, safety, and learning for young children in RCMA centers across Florida.

The successful candidate will be bilingual (English/Spanish), CPR and Pediatric First-Aid certified, and able to work with families. A fingerprint background check is required for employment consideration.

Qualifications

• Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Current CPR and Pediatric First-Aid certification is required.
• Enrolled in High School or pursuing GED/Vo-tech/college is preferred.
• Member of the community being served is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with developmentally appropriate activities.
• Support health, safety and educational needs of children following classroom policies.
• Plan and supervise activities to meet emotional, cognitive, social and physical needs.
• Model positive behavior and redirect as needed to maintain a safe environment.
• Assist with cleanup and supervision in indoor and outdoor areas.
• Welcome and assist parents; help with sign-in/out processes.
• Participate in required trainings and staff meetings.
• Adhere to RCMA funding and DCF requirements.
