FirstEnergy Corp. is hiring a Distribution Designer for on-site work at the York Service Center in York, Pennsylvania. The role designs overhead and underground transmission layouts and coordinates with customers through project lifecycles.

Qualified candidates will have an Engineering Technology background or equivalent, CAD skills, and the ability to travel. The position includes safety-focused practices and opportunities to assist with outages and line extensions.

Qualifikationen

• Two to four-year degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related discipline and 0-2 years related experience, OR High School with 2 years related experience.
• CAD / AutoCAD or drafting course, AC/DC fundamentals, Pre-Calculus or higher.
• Pass the Edison Electric Institute TECH employment test.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC and tariff language.
• Must have valid driver license and ability to travel to various locations.

Aufgaben

• Demonstrate commitment to safety in all tasks.
• Design single- and 3-phase overhead and underground layouts for residential, commercial, and industrial requests.
• Support project progression with client contact, fieldwork, and documentation.
• Assist with billing for line extensions and relocation work.
• Support outage management, inspections, and streetlight work as needed.
• Collaborate with customers to obtain easements and permits.
• Maintain compliant records for reports and metrics.
• Travel to FirstEnergy facilities and customer sites as required.
• Provide help during emergencies and storm events.
