Job summary

FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company is seeking a Distribution Designer to design and oversee overhead and underground distribution work for residential, commercial, and industrial requests at the Arnold Service Center. The designer leverages customer service, software tools, and design standards to deliver compliant, timely solutions.

The role requires strong communication, regulatory understanding, and the ability to collaborate with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Two to four-year degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related discipline, or equivalent.
• 0-2 years related work experience preferred in utility design or related construction practices.
• Pass the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Technician Occupations Selection System (TECH) test.
• Strong communication to guide decisions and diffuse situations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to safety in all tasks.
• Use FirstEnergy standards to design overhead and underground distribution for residential, commercial, and industrial requests.
• Coordinate with customers and field teams through project lifecycles.
• Assist with billing for line extension and relocation work as needed.
• Support outage management system (OMS) follow-up and related field activities.
