Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Texas is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our fleet services. The role involves on-site service calls at customer locations, diagnostic work, and performing preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.

You will read job orders, use diagnostic tools, replace parts such as injectors and bearings, manage inventory on the service truck, document work, and maintain safety standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability.
• ASE certifications and manufacturer certifications are preferred and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for on-site operations.
• Report to the Service Manager and perform daily duties as assigned.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle malfunctions with available technical information.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Replace components such as injectors, pistons, bearings, brakes, transmissions and other parts.
• Document all work in the company system accurately and timely.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive customer relations.
