Job summary

Service Robot Co. seeks a hands-on technician to install and maintain data center hardware on-site in Redondo Beach, under a contract arrangement. You will work with remote engineers to install servers, run cables, and replace failed parts.

The role requires comfort in cold, noisy environments, the ability to follow detailed instructions, and willingness to pass security checks. Training through our Academy includes in-person sessions and industry certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support, cabling, AV, electronics repair, or building computers.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and keep accurate records.
• Comfort working independently and communicating with remote engineers.
• Availability for overnight maintenance work.
• Comfort working on your feet in cold, noisy rooms with hearing protection.
• Ability to pass a background check and site security screening.

Responsibilities

• Install, cable, and label servers, switches, and storage equipment.
• Replace drives, memory, power supplies, fans, and optical components.
• Test repairs before closing work tickets.
• Run, terminate, and test copper and fiber cabling.
• Follow diagrams, work instructions, and approved maintenance schedules.
• Give remote engineers clear updates on what you see and do.
• Record equipment serial numbers, connections, and locations.
• Follow site security procedures when removing or disposing of hardware.
