Job summary

Reboot Monkey in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Data Center Technician for freelance, on-site work supporting critical infrastructure at world-class facilities. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining servers, performing structured cabling, and monitoring power and cooling systems.

A strong emphasis is placed on documentation and collaboration with engineering teams. The role requires 3+ years in data center operations, expert cabling skills, and relevant certifications

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of data center operations experience.
• Expertise in structured cabling (Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4/OS2).
• Experience with rack and stack operations and power distribution.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment.
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Execute hardware deployments and decommissions.
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security).
• Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
• Participate in capacity planning and upgrades.
