Job summary

Community College of Vermont is seeking an on-site Corrections Education Student Assistant to support postsecondary programming within Vermont DOC facilities. You will help with on-site tech support, equipment management, and classroom setup to maintain a secure, professional learning environment.

Hours range from 10 to 24 per week during the semester. Compensation is $16.50–$20 per hour, with no benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Basic computer literacy including word processing and printing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain professionalism in a correctional environment.
• Effective communication and following written/verbal instructions.
• Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and correctional personnel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and observe student access to computers per policy.
• Maintain inventory and check-in/out of equipment.
• Provide basic computer troubleshooting (login, printing).
• Print and distribute course materials to students.
• Support classroom and lab setup for faculty and staff.
• Ensure compliance with facility rules and confidentiality.
