Community College of Vermont is seeking an on-site Corrections Education Student Assistant to support postsecondary programming within Vermont DOC facilities. You will help with on-site tech support, equipment management, and classroom setup to maintain a secure, professional learning environment.
Hours range from 10 to 24 per week during the semester. Compensation is $16.50–$20 per hour, with no benefits eligibility.
The Corrections Education Student Assistant supports the delivery of postsecondary educational programming within the Vermont Department of Corrections (VDOC) facilities. This role provides on-site technical assistance to incarcerated students, ensures appropriate and secure use of technology, and supports faculty and program staff in maintaining an effective and professional learning environment within a correctional setting. This position will work between 10-24 hours a week during the semester and the compensation is between $16.50 an $20 an hour, based on education level. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Employment is contingent upon successfully clearing all Vermont Department of Corrections (VDOC) background and security checks. Failure to obtain or maintain VDOC clearance will result in inability to perform essential job functions and may lead to termination of employment.
All new full-time employees and certain part-time employees will be subject to a fingerprint-supported criminal background check. Any offer of employment is contingent upon the satisfactory results of this check.
Work is performed within a correctional facility setting. May require standing, walking, and monitoring student activity for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment (up to approximately 25 pounds).
Reports to the Associate Director of Corrections Education or designee.
Weekly: 0 Budgeted Wage for this Position: Pay rate is between $16.50 an $20 an hour, based on education level.
