Job summary

Community College of Vermont seeks a Corrections Education Student Assistant to support postsecondary programming within Vermont Department of Corrections facilities. This on-site role provides technical assistance to incarcerated students and helps maintain a professional learning environment.

The position runs 10–24 hours per week during the semester, with pay between $16.50 and $20 per hour based on education level.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Basic computer literacy with word processing and printing.
• Strong organizational and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a correctional environment.
• Effective communication and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and correctional personnel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student computer access per VDOC and CCV policies.
• Maintain accurate inventory and tracking of computer usage and equipment.
• Provide basic troubleshooting for login, printing, devices.
• Print, organize, and distribute course materials to students.
• Assist with classroom and lab setup as needed.
• Ensure compliance with security, confidentiality and facility rules.
• Communicate issues to CPSEI staff and facility personnel.
• Perform related duties to support program operations.
