Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Field Service Engineer - Controls Systems (Turbomachinery) to lead on-site control work for gas turbines, compressors and related equipment. You will troubleshoot, commission and maintain critical systems while collaborating with customers and teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, safety, and the ability to travel extensively to support site operations across multiple platforms and regions.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of field experience with gas turbines, compressors or rotating equipment.
• Hands-on with Mark VIe/VI/V, PLCs or safety systems.
• Experience installing, commissioning and maintaining rotating equipment and control logic.
• Experience with HDGT/ADGT platforms or steam turbines.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel 70%, including international/offshore, with TWIC eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical/mechatronics engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site control system installation, loop checks and commissioning.
• Validate control sequences for lube, hydraulic, cooling, Fire & Gas, seals and valves.
• Support turbomachinery commissioning, startup and maintenance.
• Plan installation, upgrades and outages with schedules and logistics.
• Provide technical direction aligning with Baker Hughes standards and customer requirements.
• Lead daily HSE toolbox discussions and use Site Quality Checklists.
