Job summary

Orbia is seeking an Associate Controls Engineer to join a site-based team in Pontiac, focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA software across manufacturing assets.

The role emphasizes safe operations, rigorous maintenance, and collaborative project execution with engineering and maintenance teams. A strong background in process control and DeltaV/PLC environments is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or related engineering field.
• 5-10 years of experience in process control and automation.
• 5-10 years of experience in programming/configuring DeltaV, PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA software.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA software for control systems and equipment.
• Maintain the plant's control systems to World Class standards.
• Install software updates and perform system starts and testing.
• Lead small electrical/controls projects and upgrade obsolete controls.
• Collaborate with corporate engineering to support electrical infrastructure and standards.
• Support MES and site networks; troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
• Provide hardware/software support to maintenance and production teams.
