Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to coordinate and supervise sub-contractors and craft teams across designated disciplines on construction sites.

You will review certifications, participate in safety trainings, manage timecards, and assist with schedule development. The role requires readiness to travel 100% and a strong focus on quality and safety across complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years construction management or related experience.
• Current driver's license.
• Willing to travel up to 100%.
• Completion of or interest in Master, Journeyman, or Apprentice electrician program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise sub-contractors and craft teams on site.
• Review and approve craft worker certifications and trainings.
• Oversee safety meetings and site orientation.
• Manage timecards, hiring/dismissal of craft workers, and POD activities.
• Support schedule development with Project Managers.
• Coordinate equipment and field logistics (cranes, trailers, etc.).
• Review quantity takeoffs and materials management during buyout.
• Ensure quality control of self-perform and subcontractor work.
• Conduct performance evaluations for craft workers.
