Job summary

Powers & Sons Construction is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations across the greater Indianapolis area. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, ensure safety, and deliver quality work from mobilization through closeout.

You will work with the Project Manager to plan execution, address risks, and maintain clear communication with owners, designers, and trade partners.

Qualifications

• Experience leading commercial, institutional, or multifamily construction as a Superintendent or field leader.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and building systems through substantial completion.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, site logistics, drawings, specs, and QA/QC.
• Ability to develop practical work plans, identify constraints, and hold teams to commitments.
• Proficiency in safety program implementation and site safety leadership.
• Solid documentation skills for daily reports, RFIs, and punch lists.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations and coordinate subcontractors, trades, deliveries, equipment, and site logistics.
• Establish and enforce project safety expectations and address hazards promptly.
• Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules aligned with overall project schedule.
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings, communicate priorities, and track commitments.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, and RFIs to identify conflicts and ensure field work meets requirements.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work across trades.
• Monitor workmanship and apply company safety standards through inspections and corrective actions.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, approvals with project team and authorities.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, progress photos, manpower records, and field condition docs.
• Partner with Project Manager to address schedule risks, scope changes, and material/cost impacts.
• Coordinate punch-list, startup, commissioning, and turnover activities.
• Provide clear direction to field staff and maintain professional relationships with owners and trades.
