Job summary

Powers & Sons Construction is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to lead field operations for commercial projects in the Greater Chicago market. You will oversee on-site activities, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safety, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.

The ideal candidate will have extensive commercial construction experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to safety and teamwork on busy job sites in Chicago.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of commercial construction superintendent experience.
• Experience managing ground-up and/or renovation commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to local project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day field operations on assigned construction projects.
• Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
• Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Monitor construction progress and resolve field issues.
• Ensure work is performed according to plans, specs, standards, and codes.
• Maintain daily reports, site documentation, and progress updates.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and project closeout activities.
