Job summary

Wight & Company is seeking a Construction Safety Manager to oversee the health and safety of personnel on-site and in offices, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while fostering a proactive culture of risk prevention and accountability.

The role requires developing site safety plans, leading inspections, training staff, investigating incidents, maintaining OSHA logs, and coordinating with insurers and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of dedicated safety experience in a construction environment (commercial preferred).
• OSHA 30-Hour (Construction) is required; CHST or CSP preferred; First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Policy Development: develop site‑specific safety plans and emergency procedures.
• Leadership: champion a proactive safety culture and drive accountability.
• Program Management: monitor safety metrics and report trends to leadership.
• Regulatory Reporting: stay current on OSHA standards and regulatory changes.
• Field Oversight: conduct safety inspections and audits for hazard identification.
• Team Education: facilitate safety orientations and specialized training.
• Incident Management: lead investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Compliance: maintain OSHA documents including 300 logs.
• Stakeholder Coordination: liaise with insurers, OSHA inspectors, and leadership.
