Job summary

Upchurch is seeking an experienced Project Safety Coordinator to support an active construction project in Jackson, MS. This on-site role promotes a strong safety culture, ensures regulatory compliance, and partners with project leadership to proactively manage risk.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction safety, incident investigation, and workers’ compensation management, with the ability to work effectively with both field and corporate safety teams, the GC and/or

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in construction safety management.
• Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• OSHA 500 certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to deliver on-site safety training.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
• Collaborate with Upchurch leadership and GC safety teams to keep safety a top priority.
• Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis.
• Supervise and support employee safety compliance on the project.
• Deliver safety training and promote a proactive, team-based safety culture.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports using MS Office.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable regulations.
• Manage workers’ compensation cases with TPAs from reporting to resolution.
