Job summary

Upchurch Industrial LLC seeks an experienced Project Safety Coordinator for an on-site role in Frederick, Maryland. You will promote a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and work with GC and Owner Rep to proactively manage risk.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in construction safety, incident investigation experience, OSHA 500 preferred, and strong MS Office skills for reporting and training on-site teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction safety management experience.
• Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• OSHA 500 certification preferred.
• Safety-related education, certification, degree, or coursework preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication; training on-site teams.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify hazards and implement preventive and corrective measures to reduce risk.
• Collaborate with Upchurch project leadership and the GC safety team to keep safety a top priority.
• Lead and conduct thorough incident investigations, including injuries, near misses, property damage, and theft.
• Supervise and support employee safety compliance across the project.
• Support company-wide safety initiatives and ensure consistent policy application.
• Work with the Director of Corporate Safety to align project efforts with safety objectives.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
• Maintain documentation and prepare reports using MS Office.
• Deliver effective safety training and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable regulations.
• Manage workers’ compensation cases with TPAs from reporting to resolution.
