Job summary

Upchurch is seeking a Project Safety Coordinator to support an active construction project in Frederick, Maryland. This on-site role promotes a strong safety culture and ensures regulatory compliance across the site.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of construction safety management, incident investigation experience, and strong MS Office skills. OSHA 500 is preferred, with opportunities for professional development and certification assistance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of construction safety management experience.
• Incident investigations and root-cause analysis experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to train on-site teams.
• OSHA 500 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify hazards and implement preventive measures to reduce risk.
• Collaborate with Upchurch leadership and GC safety teams to prioritize safety.
• Lead thorough incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Supervise safety compliance across the project workforce.
• Support company-wide safety initiatives and policy consistency.
• Coordinate with Corporate Safety to align project goals with org objectives.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
• Maintain documentation and reports using MS Office.
• Deliver effective safety training and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Ensure OSHA and applicable federal/state/local regulations are followed.
