Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to serve as the on-site Gilbane manager, directing the overall project direction, completion, and financial outcomes for large or complex construction projects.

The role sits primarily on the job site with occasional office travel for trainings and meetings. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage safety, quality, schedule, and budget, and drive client satisfaction on major projects across diverse sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 8–12 years of experience in construction management or related field.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops the project safety plan with corporate safety and provides jobsite leadership.
• Develops project controls and procedures to manage complex requirements and mitigates high-risk items.
• Manages project financial forecast, notice provisions, and billings to meet contract requirements.
• Creates and manages a project-specific quality plan aligned with Owner contract and documents.
• Creates and manages a closeout plan in alignment with contract documents and assists with execution.
• Provides leadership to motivate the project team and supervise project staff and engineers.
• Develops subcontracting strategy and reviews scopes to ensure buyout integrity.
• Implements contracts, risk mitigation plans, and drafts agreements and purchase orders.
• Oversees insurance and bonds enrollment and compliance for trade contractors.
• Leads development of project estimate and coordinates estimating teams.
• Leads constructability and coordination reviews.
• Creates CPM schedule for large/complex projects and mitigation plans.
• Understands local market areas to lead networking strategy.
• Collaborates with business development to align with sales strategies and client deliverables.
• Responsible for career development and coaching of team members.
• Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Interprets organizational strategy and ensures team alignment.
