Job summary

Genex Systems is seeking a Small Construction Project Coordinator for NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA. This on-site role supports CMOE II by managing select construction projects from request through closeout, developing cost estimates, and coordinating subcontractors.

You will read engineered drawings, help develop drawings and specs, and maintain schedules and costs while communicating with the NASA customer and Genex team.

Qualifications

• Eight years of combined education and experience in construction, construction project management, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction trades, especially mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and specs.
• Working knowledge of project management principles and ability to manage multiple projects with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple small construction projects from initiation to closeout.
• Develop independent construction cost estimates using RSMeans data.
• Read drawings and specifications to define scope and assist in developing drawings and specs.
• Coordinate subcontractors, support award process, provide minor CM, verify site work and track schedules/costs.
• Serve as primary NASA liaison and keep stakeholders updated.
• Close projects with final deliverables and prepare clear reports.
