Job summary

Genex Systems seeks a Senior Process Design Engineer to develop and oversee high-pressure air and steam system designs for NASA Langley facilities in Hampton, Virginia. You will lead designers, ensure code compliance, and deliver reports, drawings, and cost estimates across multi-discipline projects.

You will travel ~20% to active sites, coordinate with the mechanical team, and maintain safety and quality standards while managing scope, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
• 10+ years of direct process engineering design experience, including high-pressure air and steam systems.
• Experience with pipe flexibility analysis and pressure drop calculations (incompressible and compressible).
• Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3; CMTRs; experience leading designers/drafters.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop requirements, calculations, analyses, specs, drawings, cost estimates, and technical reports for process system designs.
• Lead and oversee designers/drafters on NASA facility mechanical systems; ensure codes and customer requirements are met.
• Perform technical quality reviews and enforce QC processes and standards.
• Balance scope, schedule, and budget to keep projects on track.
• Spend ~20% of time in the field visiting facilities and active construction sites.
• Foster a strong, engaged team through integrity and clear communication.
