Job summary

Hill International is seeking a Resident Engineer in Houston, Texas to supervise on-site personnel and lead quality control efforts. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience, with full-time on-site availability and experience in hot mix asphalt pavement construction.

Responsibilities include coordinating inspection staff, maintaining project records, addressing design discrepancies, and ensuring the project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in construction management.
• Must be willing to work full-time on-site.
• Experience with hot mix asphalt pavement construction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site personnel and manage quality control.
• Direct inspection staff scheduling and guidance to inspectors.
• Ensure project records are produced and maintained.
• Communicate contract revisions and design discrepancies to field staff.
• Review operations, crew size, and production rates to meet schedule.
• Monitor and resolve complaints from residents and authorities.
• Hold weekly progress meetings and issue minutes.
• Coordinate quality control program with site departments and contractors.
