Job summary

Challenger School seeks an experienced construction professional to own major development projects, reporting to the CEO. You will lead on-site construction, remodels, and playground developments across campuses, coordinating with architects, engineers, and vendors while maintaining budget and schedule.

The role emphasizes hands-on site evaluation, due diligence, and expanding responsibility through demonstrated performance. On-site work and nationwide travel are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent progressively responsible experience.
• Certified Playground Safety Inspector credential or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Travel commonly 50% or more during peak periods.
• Ground-up and multi-site construction experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from planning and design through permitting, construction, closeout, and warranty.
• Direct architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors while protecting Challenger’s budget, schedule, standards, and long-term interests.
• Manage scopes, budgets, schedules, bids, contracts, payment applications, and change orders.
• Review drawings, verify field conditions, and ensure corrective actions for deficiencies.
