Job summary

Vogel Bros. Building Co. is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for its Lakeland, FL office.

This full-time, on-site role supports project teams with accounts payable and general accounting tasks. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, with a preference for construction industry experience. Ideal candidates will have at least three years of accounting experience, a high school diploma or GED, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Three or more years of accounting experience, preferably in construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Follow and ensure proper execution of day-to-day accounting systems and procedures, whether computerized or manual.
• Timely and accurately process vendor invoices and employee expense reports including: review, code and match receipts to invoices; investigate discrepancies; and enter data in accounting software.
• Review monthly statements, research and resolve discrepancies, analyze job account status; prepare account adjustments; reconcile balances.
• Generate reports for daily and monthly account reconciliations.
• Gather and compile supporting details for computing invoices, tax and billings.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and provide high level customer service.
• Monitor the Accounts Payable email account; process incoming emails.
• Track partial and final lien releases.
• Provide back-up support to office staff as needed.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
