Job summary

Peace Over Violence is seeking a Temporary Communications & Program Assistant to support social media, newsletters, events, and outreach from POV headquarters in Los Angeles. This on-site role requires four days a week, with 32 hours total, and a focus on communications, program support, and community engagement.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, nonprofit communications experience, and comfort with public speaking, Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills for diverse interactions.
• Experience in communications, social media, administrative support, or related nonprofit work.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms.
• Comfortable with public speaking and representing POV at events and with partners.
• Ability to work on-site four days per week and attend community events.
• Commitment to POV's mission and survivor-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage POV social media platforms during scheduled hours.
• Assist with creating, scheduling, and posting approved social media content.
• Maintain communications calendar and newsletters.
• Assist with development and distribution of agency newsletters.
• Plan newsletter content and coordinate information from POV programs.
