Job summary

MMT in Angleton, TX is seeking a hands-on CNC Machinist I to join our manufacturing team. You'll work with CNC mills, lathes, and manual equipment to produce precision components, supporting production and prototype development.

You will read blueprints, set up tools, monitor performance, and help improve processes. The role offers growth through cross-training, exposure to advanced automation, and a team focused on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of CNC machining operations and shop practices.
• Read blueprints, drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
• Basic math including geometry and trigonometry.
• Basic machine troubleshooting and adjustments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Commitment to safety and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes and manual machines.
• Read blueprints, job travelers and work instructions.
• Load materials, install tools and fixtures for operations.
• Monitor performance; adjust feeds, speeds and offsets.
• Manufacture components to spec and production schedules.
• Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Troubleshoot basic machining issues to maintain quality.
• Support production runs and prototype development.
• Maintain records and keep a clean, safe workspace.
• Collaborate with engineers and machinists to improve processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
