Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to architect, deploy, and operate our cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure across AWS GovCloud and Microsoft Azure.

You will work with software, DevOps, security, and IT leadership to define standards, governance, and cost optimization. You'll design complete cloud environments, implement IaC with Terraform, automate provisioning, and develop Python scripts to support operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5–7 years of progressive cloud infrastructure engineering experience.
• 3+ years hands-on production experience with AWS and/or Azure, with AWS GovCloud preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, security, identity, storage, compute, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Advanced IaC experience, Terraform strongly preferred; CloudFormation/Bicep/Pulumi beneficial.
• Strong automation and scripting skills using Python or similar languages.
• Understanding of CI/CD, version control, automation pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure focused on AWS GovCloud and Azure.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, highly available cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools.
• Automate cloud provisioning, configuration, deployments, monitoring, and operations.
• Develop scripts and automation using Python or similar languages.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues to determine root cause and implement solutions.
• Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and reliability; respond to incidents.
• Design and maintain cloud networking (VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing, VPNs, firewalls).
• Implement cloud security, access controls, encryption, monitoring, backup, and DR.
• Lead or participate in cloud infrastructure projects end-to-end.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standards.
• Collaborate with Cloud Infrastructure Security Engineer on best-path solutions.
