Job summary

SIU Medicine in Springfield, IL, seeks a physician trained in Psychiatry and Internal Medicine to join as a faculty member providing psychiatry, internal medicine, and medicine-psychiatry services across SIU locations. The role includes on-site inpatient, outpatient, and ECT coverage, plus teaching medical students and residents.

Responsibilities emphasize clinical service, teaching, and research with potential for clinical compensation via a member practice agreement.

Qualifications

MD or DO degree required.
Residency training completed in Psychiatry and Internal Medicine.
Licensed or eligible for Illinois licensure.
Board certified/eligible in Psychiatry and Internal Medicine.
Board certification expected within three years if not at hire.
Sufficient ECT experience to be privileged at assigned hospitals; SIU will provide training.
Willing to be trained in TMS, VNS, Esketamine.
Experience serving multicultural populations and sensitivity to minority populations.

Responsibilities

Maintain professional outpatient practice in accordance with SIU HealthCare policy.
Provide inpatient and consultation-liaison coverage at participating hospitals including ECT.
Participate in call schedule and other routine faculty coverage duties on weekends and holidays.
