The Resident Engineer serves as the chief on-site authority for highway, bridge, and infrastructure projects, managing field inspection teams, enforcing contract plans and specifications, and overseeing project safety and daily administration.

Qualifications

• NICET Level IV certification or 10+ years of experience in heavy highway construction management.
• Familiarity with NJDOT or NJTA design standards, Construction Management systems (like Site Manager or Cap Ex), and internal Contract Compliance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Enforces contract plans and oversees on-site inspection staff.
• Manages change orders, claims, and monthly payment estimates; maintains daily inspection logs.
• Acts as liaison between agency, design teams, contractors, utilities, and the public.
