Job summary

Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. has immediate openings for experienced civil engineering construction inspectors.

The role involves on-site observations to monitor progress and quality, serving as the engineer’s liaison with the contractor, and maintaining detailed records and drawings reflecting changes. The position requires on-site presence for the full construction period, ability to review submittals and payment requests, attend contractor meetings, and uphold safety programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• B.S. in Construction Engineering/Management a plus.
• Procore experience a plus.
• Ability to travel and a valid driver’s license required.
• Familiarity with federally funded infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Must remain on the job site for the entirety of the project’s construction.
• Maintain detailed reports on progress and contractor compliance with the schedule.
• Review progress schedule, shop drawings, submittals, schedule of values, and other submittals.
• Attend meetings with the contractor (preconstruction, progress, job conferences).
• Comply with site safety programs.
• Act as owner’s liaison with the contractor and obtain required information.
• Review contractor payment applications for compliance with procedures.
• Forward recommendations to the assigned engineer.
• Other duties as assigned.
