Job summary

EarthCo Construction LLC in Charleston, SC is seeking a Civil Construction Estimator to review civil drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports to prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, and stormwater systems.

You will develop accurate cost estimates, assemble bids, coordinate with project managers and field supervisors, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing to keep bids aligned with field execution.

Qualifications

• Civil construction estimating experience including quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, and stormwater.
• Experience with bid preparation, cost analysis, and estimate development.
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital plan review tools.
• Ability to interpret civil drawings, specifications, and site reports.
• Knowledge of Lowcountry soils and environmental considerations.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and detail-oriented approach.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with PMs, field staff, subcontractors, and clients.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and work on-site in Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities

• Review civil drawings, specs, and geotechnical reports to prepare quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, and stormwater.
• Develop cost estimates, assemble bids, and maintain current unit costs and templates.
• Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to validate production rates and methods.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Update estimate templates and historical data; support pre-bid meetings.
• Clarify scope with clients and design teams; assist handoff to operations.
