Job summary

Mattern & Craig, an employee-owned engineering and survey firm, seeks a motivated Civil Engineer for the Charleston, SC office. This full-time role includes technical design and potential project-management responsibilities across water/wastewater, land development, and stormwater projects.

The candidate should hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; EIT is preferred with PE within 1–3 years. Proficiency with Civil 3D, GIS, MicroStation, and MS Office is desired.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• EIT certification; ability to obtain PE within 1-3 years is preferred.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, processes, design/build, permitting, and project work-related issues.
• Excellent engineering design, written, oral, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Water/wastewater system infrastructure design and related preliminary studies/reports.
• Land development design and stormwater analysis and design.
• Development of erosion and sediment control plans; plan and specification development; cost estimates.
• Coordination with clients, reviewing agencies, and consultants.

Job description

Mattern & Craig, an employee-owned Engineering and Survey Firm, is seeking a motivated and responsible individual for a Civil Engineering position in the Charleston, SC office. This is a full-time position with technical design and potential project-management responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be assigned to a variety of projects with responsibilities that include but are not limited to: water/wastewater system infrastructure design, preliminary engineering studies/reports, land development design, stormwater analysis and design, development of erosion and sediment control plans, plan and specification development, preparation of cost estimates, and potential coordination with clients, reviewing agencies, and consultants.

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program

Preferred Qualifications:

• EIT certification; ability to obtain PE within 1-3 years
