Job summary

Syracuse University is seeking a Dining Team Member to join our on-campus Food Services team. You will safely prepare, handle, and serve food to students and guests, while maintaining a clean, sanitary work environment and providing top-notch service on a fast-paced line.

The role requires in-person presence at the campus dining facility, with predictable hours, physical demands, and adherence to food safety standards. ServeSafe certification is preferred or obtained within 45 days.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions; basic math skills required.
• Food service experience preferred.
• Valid ServeSafe food handler certification preferred (or must be obtained upon hire – within 45 days).

Responsibilities

• Use and clean kitchen equipment; utilize utensils and clean surfaces.
• Prepare and serve food (salads, sandwiches, grilled items, pizzas).
• Operate POS terminals and collect payment from customers.
• Assist with setup and restocking of food service lines and beverage stations.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and attractive work area meeting health standards.
• Assist on serving lines as needed; replenish as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
