Job summary

Postgraduate Center for Mental Health is seeking an on-site Superintendent to lead the safe, compliant operation of an assigned residential building. You will manage building systems, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate vendors while ensuring documentation and regulatory readiness.

The role requires strong independent judgment, the ability to respond swiftly to emergencies, and the habit of maintaining a well-organized mechanical environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum five years in multi-unit residential maintenance or superintendent-level role.
• Proven competency in plumbing, minor electrical work, and heating/boiler systems.
• Experience responding to building emergencies and executing preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage building systems, preventive maintenance, and life-safety readiness.
• Lead emergency response, document actions, and escalate when needed.
• Manage work orders, track progress, and ensure 100% documentation.
• Coordinate vendors, inspect mechanical spaces, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Communicate status to supervisors and maintain orderly records.
