Job summary

Vertex in Boston is seeking a Process Chemistry Co-Op to help develop scalable manufacturing processes for APIs in clinical trials. You’ll design and execute experiments using flow chemistry, photoredox catalysis, and high-throughput methods, and optimize reaction conditions.

You’ll analyze complex organic syntheses with NMR and HPLC, document thoroughly, review literature, interpret data, and present findings to the team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
• Third-year student or above.
• Completion of organic chemistry coursework.
• Strong interest in synthesis and process chemistry.
• Good laboratory safety, organization, and communication skills.
• Eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Designing and executing experiments involving advanced techniques like flow chemistry, photoredox catalysis, and high-throughput methods.
