Job summary

Vaco by Highspring in Dora, AL is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist to own day-to-day financial processes and contribute to monthly close and reporting. This hands-on role requires strong accounting fundamentals, accuracy, and the ability to work across AP/AR, reconciliations, and cost tracking.

You will partner with leadership to monitor job costs, budgets, and KPI dashboards, while maintaining organized records and supporting administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping or general accounting.
• Strong knowledge of AP, AR, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Experience with cost accounting and job tracking.
• Comfortable working with financial reports, KPIs, and budgets.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Hands-on, organized, and willing to jump in wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day AP/AR, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activity.
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Handle cost accounting and job tracking.
• Prepare month-end financial summaries and KPI dashboards.
• Support budgeting and financial planning.
• Track job costs and help provide visibility into profitability.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
• Provide general office and administrative support as needed.
• Partner with leadership and operations to help keep the business running smoothly.
