Job summary

GRAIL is seeking a Manager, Biorepository Operations to lead on-site and off-site biorepository activities at our Durham, NC office. You will oversee specimen receipt, storage, tracking, and disposal, ensuring regulatory compliance and CAP accreditation readiness.

This hands-on leadership role requires managing a team, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining biorepository software systems to support approximately 1 million samples.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field required; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years in laboratory or biorepository with 3–5 years in supervisory roles.
• Experience managing large-scale biorepository operations and inventories.
• Strong knowledge of CAP, CLIA, ISO and ISBER guidelines.
• Experience with LIMS and biorepository inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily biorepository operations including receipt, processing, storage, and disposal.
• Manage inventory for ~1 million specimens across locations.
• Lead third-party storage vendors and ensure service quality and compliance.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, workflows, and CAP accreditation activities.
• Monitor capacity, environmental systems, and contingency planning.
• Lead and develop biorepository staff; ensure regulatory compliance.
